What do you have on YOUR feet?

Feet at the BeachI love, love, love, love, love shoes!  I especially love what I call “foo-foo” shoes.  You know the ones.  Pretty little things that make you feel like a million bucks.  And when you have a super sensitive size 10 foot like I do, finding the perfect blend of classy style, comfort and affordability can be nearly impossible. But every once in a while, you find that perfect pair that calls out your name.  Yes, the lights dim around you as you walk toward them.  Is that music I hear?  The focus is at first just on the outward beauty, but as you approach them,  heart beating faster, hoping beyond hope, you know.  You just KNOW that once you slide them on the fit will be perfect and comfortable… well… I will give you a moment to imagine, and take one myself.  Shhhhh.  Not yet. Breathe.  Just breathe.  Now gingerly flip the price tag.  Ahhhhhh.  Perfection.

Life can be pretty complicated and chaotic.  Navigating through it can be confusing and difficult and down right perplexing at times! Any rough terrain can be traitorous if our feet are not properly attired!  But when we have on the right footwear, we can stop focusing on the PAIN of traversing the obstacles, and focus on what’s really important.
What type of shoes are you wearing?
I recently had a vision where I was pulling on these mind-blowing, pointed-toed, short boots with leopard print trim and a crazy design that flared outward from just above the ankle. They were AH-MAZING! I wondered why I was seeing such specific and detailed boots in this vision/dream.  Doing a quick calculation, the practical side of me went into overdrive.   Too dressy to be practical, too short for the impending stormy season, too thin for cold, and the soles must be the softest leather… not all terrain for sure, and probably astronomically priced. So what was the point?
Then I finished slipping them on, ” KA-BAM!”  These shoes were much more than what they first appeared.  I melted into the incredible fit.  There was strength in the soles, support as well as comfort.  I realized these were no ordinary shoes.  They were symbolic of The Gospel of Peace.

These shoes were everything that could possibly be needed in a pair of foot coverings.  They were warm enough, tough enough, secure enough, the soles thick enough to propel me over ANY obstacle that was in my path!
“having your feet shod with PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE….”

We are prepared for every circumstance, obstacle and season when our “feet” are shod with the Gospel of PEACE!  I saw the image of stomping in incredibly hot sand and my shoes were thick enough!! I saw myself climbing traitorous rocks, and these shoes gripped every crevice.  Wading into the deepest of waters was not an issue because these shoes were water proof and buoyant!
I quickly got the sense that my vision was revealing a truth to me from the scriptures.

Matt 6:33
“”But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
with that:
Mark 10:27
“And Jesus looking upon them saith, “With men it is impossible, but not with God for with God all things are possible.

Ephesians 6:13-20
Therefore take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand….and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;…

When I truly turn my heart toward the Father, and SEEK HIM and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS… all these THINGS (obstacles of life) are taken care of.
Because my focus is on HIM. Not on me. Not on my circumstances.  My eyes are after HIS FACE, not my own reflection. My heart is searching to know HIS HEARTBEAT… And while my circumstances may not change, I know that He has prepared me to go wherever HE has led me.  And my feet are rocking the landscape on that journey- whatever that entails- when they are prepared with the gospel of peace!!!!
May we ourselves, always and forever be changed as we spend time in His Presence.  May our paths be well worn and well trodden as we obey His Word and honor His commands.  May our steps continue to be ordered of Him, and may our eyes always seek His Face and not our own.  May we each be filled with His Strength and Ability to overcome every obstacle, run through every troop, and leap over every wall!

Check out what shoes you are wearing- He has provided you the ultimate all terrain footwear that is absolutely perfect for the land He is leading you into!  Since we don’t know what that is, Isn’t it time to let go of your own foot wear, and slip on the shoes that He has divinely engineered just for you?

Walk on!
